Shadow of Night (All Souls #2) by Deborah Harkness

And the world of Matthew and Diana continues to grip my whole being firmly in its hands.
Shadow of Night was equally as fantastic as A Discovery of Witches.

In this incredible instalment of the All Souls series, history meets one of the best stories I have ever read—and I do not say that lightly. Deborah Harkness writes with such knowledge and intelligence and weaves a story so rich in detail with twists and turns you don’t expect. Her characters pull you in and wring every emotion known to man from you. She writes such a believable story that you can’t help but hang on every word.

Diana and Matthew share some truly beautiful moments in this instalment and we meet characters I didn’t think we would ever get a chance to. and As the story unfolds you’ll find that there are many moments where you’ll feel every emotion they do—I know I did.

By the end of the book, you’ll have a sense of foreboding in your stomach about what exactly is about to unfold in book three and I cannot wait to get started to find out even though final book in Diana and Matthew’s beautiful story brings both excitement but sadness too. I know that all good things must come to and end, but I’ve been consumed by this story and these characters and I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that I’ll be left feeling bereft when it’s over.

But for now ... I’ll enjoy the journey.

Driven (book one) by K. Bromberg

You know when you discover something so fantastic you wish you'd known about it your whole life? This is one of those books. I discovered K.Bromberg early into her writing career and haven’t looked back since.   At first when I started reading I thought I knew what kind of book this was going to be. You meet Rylee and you learn pretty quickly she’s a force to be reckoned with. She’s fierce brave and strong and I love that. You get introduced to Colton very early and he appears to be like so many other alpha males in romance books. Oh, how wrong I was. As the story unfolds, you realise that for all his bluster and dirty talk, Colton is a damaged and deeply feeling guy who doesn’t know how to let anyone in. Their chemistry is insane and the push-pull of their relationship will have you longing for more. It’s a deeply emotional story and one that I have read a number of times and fall more in love with each time I read it. It is without a doubt one of the best trilogies out th...

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard

“If I have a soul, it's yours.” This is another re-read for me and one that I have absolutely loved. My love for The Professor started way back in 2013 when I read Gabriel’s Inferno for the first time, I’ve reread him many times since then, but as has happened with a lot of my rereads recently, I’ve rediscovered just how much I love them and have found I appreciate them on a much deeper level—perhaps it’s age? Perhaps it’s therapy? I don’t know but I adore it. It’s like discovering them for the first time again in a lot of ways and truly feels like a gift. There are so many reasons I love this series and it’s going to be really difficult to sufficiently put into words just how much this book means to me. You see, when a series has been with you through a really difficult time, for me anyway, it attaches itself to your soul. It becomes a part of you and this series is most definitely a part of me. Gabriel has, since the first time I met him, been one of my top five (possibly top t...

Dark Notes by Pam Godwin

It’s universally known that the more forbidden something is, the more desirable it becomes. This is my first—but certainly not my last— Pam Godwin book. And once again, I have my best friend to thank for getting me to finally read this story. It’s been on my TBR list for a long time, and for me, those books always seem to be the ones I end up loving the most. It’s almost like, my heart knows they’re THAT good and saves them for when I really need them. Anyway, THIS BOOK . It goes without saying that the sexual tension was off the charts from the second they met and it didn’t let up. Their connection was intense and wild and at no point did I feel that it wasn’t right. Ivory is an incredibly strong female lead—which I adored. Her fierceness was fantastic to read and her strength to keep going no matter how difficult it got made me want to yell in joy. I felt her turmoil and struggles so clearly and I felt like I understood them a little too. Emeric … wow . That man is a furnace. From ...
