The Literary Puff

 Four elements. Four powers. Once Choice. Wow. Okay. I’m not entirely sure how to review this book if I’m honest. There’s a lot I could say, but it would totally spoil it. Firstly I just want to remind every single person who reads— there’s no judging here . Read what you love and what feeds your soul. Once you set yourself free from others opinions … you’ll enjoy it a whole lot more. Now … I’m going to simply say, Pepper is right, this book is filthy. It’s dirty and depraved and so damn sexy. The heat sizzles from the pages and there’s very little let up. Right when you think you can catch your breath … it starts again. But there’s also a lot of emotions and feeling within the story too. As always Pepper knows how to write a book that has you questioning yourself, but that’s why I lover her stories.  "Love is on the house." I’ve read a couple of books by A.L. Jackson before and enjoyed them. But I’ll be completely honest and say that when I saw the hashtag #piercedmc and read the blurb, it was an instant yes for me— you like what you like, right? I absolutely loved Ryder and Dakota’s story. I didn’t expect the plot twist and I adored that I didn’t guess it because I (rather annoyingly) do tend to guess.   Dakota is one of my favourite female characters ever I think. She’s strong, knows what she wants and goes to get it, even when that results in heartbreak. I simply loved her attitude and strength throughout this book and there wasn’t a single moment that she frustrated me (which is rare for me I’ll admit) I also cannot tell you how much I ADORED that she was a curvier female lead and that the guy adored those curves—as he should! Now, Ryder … bloody hell where did you come from? Seeing as it was this dark male that tempted me to read this story, I’m delighted to say...

“Victory is sweet.” I’m sure if you know K. Bromberg’s name, you’ll most likely to know her for the incredible creation that is Colton Donovan. Her Driven series is the only racing books I have ever read, so when I saw she was releasing a new series in the motor-racing world, I knew I had to read it. This one started off slowly for me (I’m not entirely sure if it’s just because of the kinds of books I’ve been reading though) I liked it, but I didn’t love it. But I knew Kristy would deliver and she absolutely did! I really liked Camila—she’s funny, feisty and strong (even if she doesn’t think so at times) I adored her relationship with Elise. more than with her other girlfriends actually, and of course, I adored the relationship with her dad too. “Someday...but not today,” There’s no doubt that Pepper has a unique ability to create worlds and characters that you haven’t met before. She writes love with an intensity that burns from the page and sears soul-mates together for eternity and this story is no different. I really wanted to love this duet—I loved the idea of everything being surrounded by water, that the love story span a lifetime and I adored the way in which the story was told. But Cor Amare left me feeling a little like the first one did, that it didn’t quite deliver on what I hoped for. Cor Amare picks up exactly where we left off in Lunamare —Aslan is on the run and Neri is trying to pick up the pieces and keep him safe. The story is a whirlwind for many chapters and then Pepper lulls us into a place of presumed safety … which of course doesn’t last for long. Strangely I found Aslan most likeable when he was apart from Neri and trying to survive his ordeal. I found his strength and sheer determination to fight in...

One heart. One body. One life. I'm no novice when it comes to Pepper Winter’s marvellous mind and the worlds she creates, but this is the first book for me that’s not ‘exclusively’ dark. Firstly, I want to take a moment to mention the dedication in this book. When I first tapped my kindle screen and started to read it (I do not understand people who DON’T read the dedications at all!) I actually got goosebumps. It is the best dedication I have ever read—pure, beautiful, heartfelt, unapologetic love and I absolutely adored it! Now on to what thought about LUNAMARE. I’m not sure how to start this review if I’m honest, because I adore Pepper’s writing and consider her one of the best dark authors there is and because of that, I really wanted to love every aspect of this story … but I can’t say I did wholeheartedly did.
