Gabriel's Rapture (Gabriel's Inferno #2) by Sylvain Reynard

She is not my equal; she is my better. She is my sticky little leaf... After my re-read of Gabriel’s Inferno , I naturally dived head-first into Gabriel’s Rapture . The sheer beauty and intensity of Gabriel’s Inferno —the exceptional story telling and emotion filled plot left me feeling a little overwhelmed so I was really left with no choice but to go straight from Inferno to Rapture . Rapture picks up where we left off in Inferno . Gabriel and Julianne are in Florence and waking up after their first night together. Whereas Inferno was just that—intense, heat searing from the page— Rapture feels more painful and torturous. There are chapters of painful emotions and situations that left me feeling frustrated and irritated with Gabriel, which is perfect story telling seeing as that’s exactly how Julianne feels. There’s no doubt that you’ll feel it too during this book. I felt like the heat in this book had been taken down a notch or two which isn’t a bad thing. As their relationship...

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard

“If I have a soul, it's yours.” This is another re-read for me and one that I have absolutely loved. My love for The Professor started way back in 2013 when I read Gabriel’s Inferno for the first time, I’ve reread him many times since then, but as has happened with a lot of my rereads recently, I’ve rediscovered just how much I love them and have found I appreciate them on a much deeper level—perhaps it’s age? Perhaps it’s therapy? I don’t know but I adore it. It’s like discovering them for the first time again in a lot of ways and truly feels like a gift. There are so many reasons I love this series and it’s going to be really difficult to sufficiently put into words just how much this book means to me. You see, when a series has been with you through a really difficult time, for me anyway, it attaches itself to your soul. It becomes a part of you and this series is most definitely a part of me. Gabriel has, since the first time I met him, been one of my top five (possibly top t...

Quintessentially Q (Monsters in the Dark #2) by Pepper Winters

“Fly away, esclave, if that is what you want. I won’t stop you.” If you thought Tears of Tess was dark … you haven’t seen anything yet. In the second book of the Monsters in the Dark series, Pepper Winters takes everything you thought you knew, everything you thought you could handle and obliterates it. There’s no question that Q and Tess aren’t a conventional couple. Their story is dark, twisted and rippling with forbidden. Yet it is also one of bone-deep connection and soul-searing love. Their connection is insane and it’s weaved into every fibre of their being. Tess is a force to be reckoned with, she’s incredibly strong and courageous. I loved her from the first book and that’s only grown with this book. While I read I just kept thinking, I would love to be her friend. Q is … well … Q . He lets himself be free from restraint and that doesn’t look cute in any way, shape or form. He gives in to the beast and does everything in his ability to save Tess even at the cost of himself....

Final Debt (Indebted #6) by Pepper Winters

“She was my punishment and penance all in one.” What. A. Book. I’ve read a lot of books in my time and I’ve enjoyed most of them. Some of them, if I’ve been really lucky, have crept into my soul and lived within me to this day. But very few have affected me as much as this book (and series) has. As I said in my reviews of the other books, this series started out as a slow burner for me. I didn't warm to the characters at all to begin with. How naive I was to think I wouldn't continue with it .. that perhaps it wasn't for me. There are so many things I want to say about Final Debt , about Nila and Jethro, about Cut and Bonnie and about Kes. About the Indebted world that although is very firmly fiction, feels like I’ve lived it right along with them. There’s no let up in this story. There isn’t a moment where you think, right now I can breathe. It keeps twisting you, keeps pushing you further and further into the world and there are times I didn’t think I would survive it … ...

Fourth Debt (Indebted #5) by Pepper Winters

“Live for me. Breathe for me. Come back to life for me.” How a book series can go from strength to strength on this scale is beyond me. This book just flew by for me. I couldn’t put it down the first time I read it and I couldn’t put it down this time. I'm reading, I’m piecing it all together and it’s slowly beginning to feel like I get it. So, why do I feel like I don't actually understand it at all? That there is more coming in The Final Debt than we’ve been lead to believe there is and that it’s going to knock me on my butt? And most importantly, why does that excite me as much as it does? This book is so cleverly written—each page haemorrhages emotion the bleed from the pages and soak into your very being. The details that fill every chapter carry the characters and the plot racing towards the finale and I wasn’t entirely sure I wanted it to get there but was also desperate to get there in equal torturous measures. There are so many moments in this book that made me feel...

The Mistress (The Original Sinners Series book four) by Tiffany Reisz

“It was paradise …” She smiled through her tears. “And paradise had a wall around it.” The Mistress  picks up where  The Prince  left off and once again, I devoured this book and I have no regrets. I adored the side we saw to Søren in The Mistress . He always seemed untouchable, that very little phased him—a strong dominant man. Yet once Nora is taken and he is helpless, you see a little more of the gentle, vulnerable side and it was truly beautiful to read.  There were so many moments when reading that I was in tears. It is so beautifully written that you feel the emotions Nora is living. Each chapter, each page, each word is art. Pure, beautiful, unapologetic, art. The character development, the plot twists, the way you go from sheer dread to joy in mere minutes. You understand a little more the relationship between Søren and Kingsley. It’s a complex one, yet one that is beautiful in its own way. I won't spoil the story, but the note Søren leaves Kingsley gave me g...
