Off the Grid (Full Throttle #1) by K. Bromberg

“Victory is sweet.”

I’m sure if you know K. Bromberg’s name, you’ll most likely to know her for the incredible creation that is Colton Donovan. Her Driven series is the only racing books I have ever read, so when I saw she was releasing a new series in the motor-racing world, I knew I had to read it.

This one started off slowly for me (I’m not entirely sure if it’s just because of the kinds of books I’ve been reading though) I liked it, but I didn’t love it. But I knew Kristy would deliver and she absolutely did!

I really liked Camila—she’s funny, feisty and strong (even if she doesn’t think so at times) I adored her relationship with Elise. more than with her other girlfriends actually, and of course, I adored the relationship with her dad too. She really goes from strength to strength in this story and it’s such a great arc.

Now, what can I say about Riggs? I truly feel like he’s one of my favourites, one I’ll remember and read again. He’s delightfully cheeky, charming and so damn sexy. His compassion and kindness is wonderful and made me fall for him harder. I adored his sense of humour, it was absolutely my kind of humour. His journey is another emotional one with a lot of growth and I adored reading it.

I really like that the supporting characters didn’t overload the story. It really was about Camila and Riggs which I absolutely think it should be. I love stories where the couple are front and centre—it’s their story, I need them to be the plot, not the supporting characters. At 94% something happened and sealed the deal for me. I was absolutely in love with these characters, everything slotted into place and I gave it a big piece of my heart and it was well deserved I tell you.

I actually feel like this story could have been more than one book, there was enough in their story, BUT I’m really excited to see where Kristy takes this series. She’s incredible at writing books set in the motor-racing world and this one is no different.

As with all K Bromberg’s books, and despite it being a slow starter for me, I ended up loving it and often found myself chucking. That’s one of my favourite parts about her writing—she writes funny so incredibly well and I adore that. There needs to be more genuinely funny things in books.

This is a sexy, emotional and funny story that will give you all the feels and then some and it earned its rightful place on my book shelf.

I leave you with a quote— which for me—were one of the most memorable parts of Riggs and Camila …

I’m giving Off the Grid 4 stars.

*I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for this review and my review is 100% honest and true.

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

“I think you have to have faith in people before they earn it. Otherwise it's not faith, right?” It’s not often (probably never for most people) that you find a book that, for a good 75% of the book, you dislike 99% of the characters in it and yet, YOU KEEP READING. It seems utterly ridiculous to even say that about a book that I have given 5 stars to, I get it. But it’s how I felt reading this book and it’s a testament to the absolute artistry that is the writing of this story for me. It’s not my typical read and if any other book was like this, it would be left unfinished. I see no shame in not finishing a book you don’t love. There are too many wonderful books out there to discover, why read something you don’t wholeheartedly adore? And yet … The writing and story telling of these incredibly flawed and complex characters had me unable to put it down—I mean that, I read it in less than 48 hours—I just HAD to know what happened, I was fully invested even though I felt no real conn...

Fueled (book two) by K. Bromberg

Incredible .  Colton and Rylee’s story continues in book two of the  Driven   Series and it goes from strength to strength. There were so many, so many parts in this story that had me actually growling at my kindle. Colton can truly be the most infuriating male in the book world sometimes. But I get it. And so will you. As is always the case with K.Bromberg , you’ll get a heap load of emotions and sexiness but it’s not all the story is. There is a complicated and deep story woven throughout and it’s beautiful to read. There are some utterly heartbreaking moments that left me breathless and with tears streaming down my face, but there were also many, many moments of absolute belly laughing and that’s truly what I need from a book. Everything . There are few books that make me throw my kindle, only to go right back and pick it up, because I just had to know what was going to happen. And then it did …   I LOVE this series.

Cor Amare (Luna #2) by Pepper Winters

“Someday...but not today,” There’s no doubt that Pepper has a unique ability to create worlds and characters that you haven’t met before. She writes love with an intensity that burns from the page and sears soul-mates together for eternity and this story is no different. I really wanted to love this duet—I loved the idea of everything being surrounded by water, that the love story span a lifetime and I adored the way in which the story was told. But Cor Amare left me feeling a little like the first one did, that it didn’t quite deliver on what I hoped for. Cor Amare picks up exactly where we left off in Lunamare —Aslan is on the run and Neri is trying to pick up the pieces and keep him safe. The story is a whirlwind for many chapters and then Pepper lulls us into a place of presumed safety … which of course doesn’t last for long. Strangely I found Aslan most likeable when he was apart from Neri and trying to survive his ordeal. I found his strength and sheer determination to fight in...
