Second Debt (Indebted #3) by Pepper Winters

"You're inside me, Nila Weaveras surely as I'm inside you."

Firstly, whaaaaat!?

I started reading Second Debt and thought that perhaps this book might ease up a little … ridiculous really, this is Pepper and Pepper doesn’t ease up at all. I mean, this is a reread, I know the story and yet I still yelled when it ended!

Nila and Jethro really go through it in this instalment. Nila makes a discovery that really does bring home exactly what this whole situation is about and I honestly felt like this is where reality set in for her. There was no escape, there was no way out.

Jethro continues to battle with what he wants and what is expected of him. His father continues to dominate and attempt to control him, we see him seal himself and Nila in a whole new way and that’s all before we get to the Second Debt.

I’m not going to spoil the story but what I will say is, I don’t think I’ve ever been so anxious or tense while reading before. They weren’t lying when they said the First Debt was the easiest … so prepare yourself for what’s ahead.

Once again, Pepper lulls us into thinking that things might—might—just be okay … then reminds us that this isn’t the case and ends the book on an insane cliffhanger making me even more glad that the whole series is ready to read.

Another four stars for Second Debt and this consuming series.

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

“I think you have to have faith in people before they earn it. Otherwise it's not faith, right?” It’s not often (probably never for most people) that you find a book that, for a good 75% of the book, you dislike 99% of the characters in it and yet, YOU KEEP READING. It seems utterly ridiculous to even say that about a book that I have given 5 stars to, I get it. But it’s how I felt reading this book and it’s a testament to the absolute artistry that is the writing of this story for me. It’s not my typical read and if any other book was like this, it would be left unfinished. I see no shame in not finishing a book you don’t love. There are too many wonderful books out there to discover, why read something you don’t wholeheartedly adore? And yet … The writing and story telling of these incredibly flawed and complex characters had me unable to put it down—I mean that, I read it in less than 48 hours—I just HAD to know what happened, I was fully invested even though I felt no real conn...

Fueled (book two) by K. Bromberg

Incredible .  Colton and Rylee’s story continues in book two of the  Driven   Series and it goes from strength to strength. There were so many, so many parts in this story that had me actually growling at my kindle. Colton can truly be the most infuriating male in the book world sometimes. But I get it. And so will you. As is always the case with K.Bromberg , you’ll get a heap load of emotions and sexiness but it’s not all the story is. There is a complicated and deep story woven throughout and it’s beautiful to read. There are some utterly heartbreaking moments that left me breathless and with tears streaming down my face, but there were also many, many moments of absolute belly laughing and that’s truly what I need from a book. Everything . There are few books that make me throw my kindle, only to go right back and pick it up, because I just had to know what was going to happen. And then it did …   I LOVE this series.

Cor Amare (Luna #2) by Pepper Winters

“Someday...but not today,” There’s no doubt that Pepper has a unique ability to create worlds and characters that you haven’t met before. She writes love with an intensity that burns from the page and sears soul-mates together for eternity and this story is no different. I really wanted to love this duet—I loved the idea of everything being surrounded by water, that the love story span a lifetime and I adored the way in which the story was told. But Cor Amare left me feeling a little like the first one did, that it didn’t quite deliver on what I hoped for. Cor Amare picks up exactly where we left off in Lunamare —Aslan is on the run and Neri is trying to pick up the pieces and keep him safe. The story is a whirlwind for many chapters and then Pepper lulls us into a place of presumed safety … which of course doesn’t last for long. Strangely I found Aslan most likeable when he was apart from Neri and trying to survive his ordeal. I found his strength and sheer determination to fight in...
