Fourth a Lie (Goddess Isles #4) by Pepper Winters

I’m going to start off by saying this book isn’t for the faint-hearted. This one made me feel sick.

Pepper managed to turn my stomach so many times in this book and put me on the edge of the seat. It was tense and I don’t do this kind of tension well. It felt like I was living what they were a lot of the time and it was intense.

Sully and Eleanor (along with Jealousy and Cal) really go through it in this instalment. They’re pushed, they’re pulled, they’re hurt and they face death constantly. They didn’t have a chance to stop and take a breath and I didn’t either because there was no good place to leave it, no good place to stop and take a break …

I. Had. To. Keep. Reading.

During this book, we see a little more of the human Sully crack through and I think we needed to really. He was someone who I didn’t really like for a long time. Yes, he was passionate and he didn’t hide who he was, but there has to be some redemption for a character or else, they’re just the villain, aren’t they?

Eleanor shows she’s brave and will fight—She follows what her gut is telling her, even when she knows it’s an ambush and won’t end well. She battles on, she puts her life on the line for Sully and does it pay off … you’ll have to read to find out.

For me, this is the best book so far in the series and I hope the next book is even better. But please, Pepper, can it be a little less intense, please?

You know when you discover something so fantastic you wish you'd known about it your whole life? This is one of those books. I discovered K.Bromberg early into her writing career and haven’t looked back since. At first when I started reading I thought I knew what kind of book this was going to be. You meet Rylee and you learn pretty quickly she’s a force to be reckoned with. She’s fierce brave and strong and I love that. “If I have a soul, it's yours.” This is another re-read for me and one that I have absolutely loved. It’s universally known that the more forbidden something is, the more desirable it becomes. This is my first—but certainly not my last— Pam Godwin book. And once again, I have my best friend to thank for getting me to finally read this story. It’s been on my TBR list for a long time, and for me, those books always seem to be the ones I end up loving the most.
