Fourth a Lie (Goddess Isles #4) by Pepper Winters

“If you wanted a girl who obeys, you shouldn’t have chased after a dream.” I’m going to start off by saying this book isn’t for the faint-hearted. This one made me feel sick. Pepper managed to turn my stomach so many times in this book and put me on the edge of the seat. It was tense and I don’t do this kind of tension well. It felt like I was living what they were a lot of the time and it was intense. Sully and Eleanor (along with Jealousy and Cal) really go through it in this instalment. They’re pushed, they’re pulled, they’re hurt and they face death constantly. They didn’t have a chance to stop and take a breath and I didn’t either because there was no good place to leave it, no good place to stop and take a break … I. Had. To. Keep. Reading. During this book, we see a little more of the human Sully crack through and I think we needed to really. He was someone who I didn’t really like for a long time. Yes, he was passionate and he didn’t hide who he was, but there has to be some re...

Dark Notes by Pam Godwin

It’s universally known that the more forbidden something is, the more desirable it becomes. This is my first—but certainly not my last— Pam Godwin book. And once again, I have my best friend to thank for getting me to finally read this story. It’s been on my TBR list for a long time, and for me, those books always seem to be the ones I end up loving the most. It’s almost like, my heart knows they’re THAT good and saves them for when I really need them. Anyway, THIS BOOK . It goes without saying that the sexual tension was off the charts from the second they met and it didn’t let up. Their connection was intense and wild and at no point did I feel that it wasn’t right. Ivory is an incredibly strong female lead—which I adored. Her fierceness was fantastic to read and her strength to keep going no matter how difficult it got made me want to yell in joy. I felt her turmoil and struggles so clearly and I felt like I understood them a little too. Emeric … wow . That man is a furnace. From ...

Je Suis a Toi (Monsters in the Dark #4) by Pepper Winters

Je t'aime avec toutes les ombres du monde pour l'éternit I've finished this entire Monsters in the Dark series for, I think, the second time? It could be the third and I loved it more this time round than I think I ever have. Although this didn't have the same depth as the other novels, with it being a novella, it finished the series off well. Of course there was tension, Q and Tess thrive on a little tension after all. It was sexy and it was heartfelt love which we have come to expect. They are uniquely them and I adore them both. I would of course love to see more from Q and Tess and luckily for me, they appear in a couple of other stories that will make up part of my epic Pepper reread. Until next time, Maître Q. Je Suis a Toi. • Needless to say, if you’re unsure if dark is for you, then please do your research and read the trigger warnings for this book.  It’s not light. It’s not fluffy. Please read responsibly. You can find trigger warnings on  Pepper's websit...

One Dirty Night by Pepper Winters

Four elements. Four powers. Once Choice. Wow. Okay. I’m not entirely sure how to review this book if I’m honest. There’s a lot I could say, but it would totally spoil it. Firstly I just want to remind every single person who reads— there’s no judging here . Read what you love and what feeds your soul. Once you set yourself free from others opinions … you’ll enjoy it a whole lot more. Now … I’m going to simply say, Pepper is right, this book is filthy. It’s dirty and depraved and so damn sexy. The heat sizzles from the pages and there’s very little let up. Right when you think you can catch your breath … it starts again. But there’s also a lot of emotions and feeling within the story too. As always Pepper knows how to write a book that has you questioning yourself, but that’s why I lover her stories. I want to be pushed to the very end of all my boundaries and comfort zone and fall head-first and love every second. Hunter is the star of the show for me—he’s absolutely divine and ...

Don't Forget Me Tomorrow (Time River #2) by A.L. Jackson

"Love is on the house." I’ve read a couple of books by A.L. Jackson before and enjoyed them. But I’ll be completely honest and say that when I saw the hashtag #piercedmc and read the blurb, it was an instant yes for me— you like what you like, right? I absolutely loved Ryder and Dakota’s story. I didn’t expect the plot twist and I adored that I didn’t guess it because I (rather annoyingly) do tend to guess.   Dakota is one of my favourite female characters ever I think. She’s strong, knows what she wants and goes to get it, even when that results in heartbreak. I simply loved her attitude and strength throughout this book and there wasn’t a single moment that she frustrated me (which is rare for me I’ll admit) I also cannot tell you how much I ADORED that she was a curvier female lead and that the guy adored those curves—as he should! Now, Ryder … bloody hell where did you come from? Seeing as it was this dark male that tempted me to read this story, I’m delighted to say...

Gabriel's Rapture (Gabriel's Inferno #2) by Sylvain Reynard

She is not my equal; she is my better. She is my sticky little leaf... After my re-read of Gabriel’s Inferno , I naturally dived head-first into Gabriel’s Rapture . The sheer beauty and intensity of Gabriel’s Inferno —the exceptional story telling and emotion filled plot left me feeling a little overwhelmed so I was really left with no choice but to go straight from Inferno to Rapture . Rapture picks up where we left off in Inferno . Gabriel and Julianne are in Florence and waking up after their first night together. Whereas Inferno was just that—intense, heat searing from the page— Rapture feels more painful and torturous. There are chapters of painful emotions and situations that left me feeling frustrated and irritated with Gabriel, which is perfect story telling seeing as that’s exactly how Julianne feels. There’s no doubt that you’ll feel it too during this book. I felt like the heat in this book had been taken down a notch or two which isn’t a bad thing. As their relationship...

Gabriel's Inferno (Gabriel's Inferno #1) by Sylvain Reynard

“If I have a soul, it's yours.” This is another re-read for me and one that I have absolutely loved. My love for The Professor started way back in 2013 when I read Gabriel’s Inferno for the first time, I’ve reread him many times since then, but as has happened with a lot of my rereads recently, I’ve rediscovered just how much I love them and have found I appreciate them on a much deeper level—perhaps it’s age? Perhaps it’s therapy? I don’t know but I adore it. It’s like discovering them for the first time again in a lot of ways and truly feels like a gift. There are so many reasons I love this series and it’s going to be really difficult to sufficiently put into words just how much this book means to me. You see, when a series has been with you through a really difficult time, for me anyway, it attaches itself to your soul. It becomes a part of you and this series is most definitely a part of me. Gabriel has, since the first time I met him, been one of my top five (possibly top t...
